I will also give insight to questions everyone is begging to know such as; Which plays to use in certain situations and Why? What wins games offense or defense? What position has the biggest impact on a game.Just log in there is more to come. But for you rookies here is a short Overview of the sport,The game is football. Thats (American) football for soccer fans. You need to know its played on a 100 yard field, with a rectangular shaped box known as the End Zone which extends 10 yards on each end of the field.
Football is played by 2 teams,There are 11 players on each side the team that controls the ball is known as the offense.Thier objective is to score a touchdown(7 points) by running or passing the ball into the endzone. They have 4 downs or attempts to advance the ball a total of 10 yards to get a first down and get a new set of downs. The offense also has the option to score a touchdown within the amount of attempts by reaching the endzone. Also the offense can kick and score a field goal(3points) or choose to punt the ball away to the other teams offense in order to gain field postion. Failure to advance the ball 10 yards to obtain a first down or score will result in what is called a turnover, in which the other teams offense takes over. The offenses goal is to score in these manners, but all the while the defensive players are trying to impead them.
The defenses goal is to stop the offense and score a touchdown by taking the ball away from the offensive with a (fumble or interception), two terms describing a type of turnover…This is a lesson I will touch on any term you dont understand at a different time. But lets continue shall we. Remember if the defense impeads the offense from getting 10 yards for a firstdown or a score that also results in a turnover.
This has just been a breif intro to the game but the most important fact I failed to mention is at the end of the game the team with the most points wins.Football is not a hard sport to learn and I haven’t covered every aspect of the game and I probably could blog a book trying to fit every detail on it. There are still many terms like; negative yardage, sack, blitz and kick off but stay tuned to this site and we’ll have you ready for gameday.Feel free to ask questions or leave comments,Thanks for reading
